Celebrating 30 Years, Mitsui Leasing Capital Indonesia Shares Happiness with 300 Informal Workers
Jakarta – In commemoration of the Company’s 30th anniversary, Mitsui Leasing Capital Indonesia joint hands with BPJS Ketenagakerjaan to conduct a CSR activity targeted for informal workers.
The CSR is in the form of giving funding for one year worth of insurance fees for 300 informal worker from different sectors of the industry. The fund has been distributed last July 2022 through the Workers Health Insurance and Death Insurance Program held by BPJS Ketenagakerjaan.
“I personally think that it is very important for us as workers to be insured. This is because every part of our work has its own risks which should be accounted for in the cases of unpredictable happenings. I also believe that every worker should feel secure and protected while conducting each assignment.” explained Mr. Naoyuki Akiyama, President Director of Mitsui Leasing Capital Indonesia.
Mitsui Leasing Capital Indonesia also held a ceremonial event for this CSR. The event was attended by Board of Directors and Division Heads of Mitsui Leasing Capital Indonesia, Deputy Director and Management Representatives of BPJS Ketenagakerjaan, Management Representatives of National Zakat Agency (BAZNAS), also the CSR donation recipient representatives.
In this event, Mitsui Leasing Capital Indonesia did the symbolic donation hand-over to the CSR donation recipients. In return of the gesture, BPJS Ketenagakerjaan awarded appreciation plaques and certificate to Mitsui Leasing Capital Indonesia for the contribution of help.
This CSR activity is also covered by several medias such as Jakarta News and ANTARA Jatim. The narration of the articles shed positive light on the event and Company. The publication hopes to inspire other Companies or individuals to want to help others in need.
“Out of 1,8 million informal workers in the DKI Jakarta region, only 10% is registered for the work-force insurance. Hopefully, other big Companies can also give help like Mitsui Leasing Capital Indonesia to support the workers in Indonesia.” Said Eko Nugriyanto, BPJS Ketenagakerjaan Deputy Director of DKI Jakarta Region.
Mitsui Leasing Capital Indonesia hopes that the CSR collaboration with BPJS Ketenagakerjaan can continue to be done and give positive impact for society, especially for informal workers.
