MLCI Supports Community Welfare Through Health Checkups and Distribution of Basic Necessities
On Thursday, November 28, 2024, PT Mitsui Leasing Capital Indonesia (MLCI) conducted a corporate social responsibility (CSR) program titled “Sehat Bersama” (Healthy Together). The event was held in Kebon Melati Village, Tanah Abang District, Central Jakarta, with a focus on providing free healthcare services and distributing basic necessities to elderly individuals living below the poverty line.
Through this initiative, MLCI reaffirms its commitment to improving the quality of life for communities, especially for the elderly who often face various limitations in terms of health and well-being, especially those who have retired and lack a steady income.
"In addition to supporting community welfare, we hope this program inspires everyone to show greater care for the elderly around them, ensuring they have a healthy and happy old age," said Mr. Dandy Kusuma, Corporate Secretary of MLCI.
The CSR program consisted of two main activities. The first was free health checkups facilitated by Puskesmas Tanah Abang. The elderly underwent comprehensive health screenings, including blood pressure, blood sugar, cholesterol, uric acid, liver function, and kidney function tests. The results were provided to participants in detailed reports, accompanied by medical advice for preventing more serious health conditions.
Following the health checkups, the elderly received packages of basic necessities to help meet their daily needs. This assistance was expected to alleviate the burden of fulfilling their essential requirements.
"We deeply appreciate this CSR program as it aligns with Kebon Melati Village's efforts to reduce poverty and represents a significant step as part of our sustainable development goals," said Rendi Wijaya Saputro, Head of Kebon Melati Village.
The event was a resounding success, with all attendees expressing their gratitude and satisfaction with the program. By collaborating with professional medical teams from Puskesmas Tanah Abang, MLCI ensured that each participant received high-quality and reliable healthcare services.
"We are grateful for this program, which has made it easier for us to access the healthcare services we need," said Herliani, one of the residents who attended the event.
Through the “Sehat Bersama” program, MLCI not only provides direct support to the community but also reinforces its commitment to being a catalyst for greater change in creating a healthier and more prosperous future for all.
