Distributing Laptop as Donation to Support Equal Access to Digital Education for Children in Orphanages
Jakarta, 14 November 2025 – As part of its ongoing commitment to creating sustainable social impact, PT Mitsui Leasing Capital Indonesia (Mitsui Leasing) has once again carried out a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program under the theme Smart in Digital. This initiative focuses on supporting the learning needs of children in orphanages by providing functional laptop devices to help them thrive in the digital era.
In this program, Mitsui Leasing distributed 20 laptops to Panti Anak Berkat and Pondok Asuh Al-Farid, both located in Cikarang. These orphanages were selected based on several considerations, including the high need for digital tools to support the education of children who are currently pursuing their studies at the high school, vocational school, and university level.
With limited digital facilities available, access to proper learning devices has become essential to help these children adapt to an increasingly technology-based curriculum and to ensure they are not left behind in their academic development.
Responding to the implementation of this program, Mr. Yasuaki Miyaoka, President Director of Mitsui Leasing, expressed his appreciation and hopes for the children. “This program is part of Mitsui Leasing’s continuous commitment to social contribution. We want to support the younger generation so that they can continue to learn, dream, and achieve their aspirations in the future,” he stated.
Following the donation handover, Mitsui Leasing also provided a briefing on responsible and safe laptop usage. This educational session was conducted as part of the company’s effort to ensure that each device truly supports the children’s learning process and is utilized in a meaningful and beneficial way.
The impact of this initiative was warmly welcomed by the orphanage representatives. One of the Al-Farid Orphanage caretakers, Mr. Edi, shared his gratitude, saying, “Alhamdulillah, the children can finally learn using laptops. It has been a long time since we had access to such facilities. Thank you, Mitsui Leasing.”
