MLCI Embraces Togetherness and Cultural Diversity in the 2025 Chinese New Year Celebration
PT Mitsui Leasing Capital Indonesia (MLCI) successfully held the 2025 Cap Go Meh celebration on Friday, March 15, 2025, at Twelve Chinese Dining Restaurant as part of the closing festivities for the 2025 Chinese New Year. The event was marked by a festive atmosphere, with decorations and attendees dressed in red, a color that holds deep significance in Chinese culture, symbolizing energy, vitality, celebration, good fortune, and prosperity.
This celebration served as a special moment for employees and the board of directors to honor an important Chinese tradition while reinforcing the values of togetherness and tolerance within the company. As the first Chinese New Year celebration, this event reflected the company’s appreciation for cultural diversity in the workplace.
The event commenced with an opening speech by Mr. Denny Dilham, Executive Director of MLCI, followed by the highlight of the evening—the Yu Sheng or Prosperity Toss tradition. This ritual symbolizes hopes for good fortune, success, and prosperity in the Year of the Wood Snake. Participants joyfully tossed and mixed the colorful salad while expressing their wishes for the year ahead, as this tradition is believed to bring good luck to those who take part.
Adding to the excitement, the event featured an interactive game session that tested participants’ knowledge of the 2025 Chinese New Year and Chinese cultural traditions. The celebration concluded with a group photo session and a delightful dinner featuring a variety of authentic Chinese dishes.
Although the event was held after the peak of the Chinese New Year festivities, it did not diminish the enthusiasm and joy of all attendees. This celebration further demonstrated MLCI’s commitment to embracing diversity and strengthening employee relationships through inclusive cultural experiences.
