Financial Literation Webinar 2023 Semester I: A Closer Look into Financing Company Business

Jakarta – On Saturday, 17 June 2023, PT Mitsui Leasing Capital Indonesia (MLCI) held a Financial Literation Webinar. This Webinar is a part of the Company’s participation in the series of ‘Road to Financial Inclusion Month’ campaign, which is supported by the Financial Services Authority to increase the number of financial literation and inclusion in Indonesia, before the peak of the Financial Inclusion Month (BIK) in October.

This time, MLCI’s Literation used the theme “A Closer Look into Financing Company Business”. This activity was held online. It was opened by a speech of greetings from Mr. Naoyuki Akiyama as the President Director of MLCI, while the material was presented by Mr. Heno Ariyanto, as the Compliance Unit Head and Head of the Anti Money Laundering dan Terrorism Funding Prevention Function (APU PPT) in MLCI.

As encouraged by the Financial Services Authority, the targeted participant for literation and inclusion activities for the month of June are housewives and/or local small business owner. There were 49 participants who joined this Webinar; with the majority of the demographic is Female around the age of 35 – 55 years old. Other than that, there are also middle aged men with the professions stay at home dad, employees, or businessman.

All Participants followed through the literation activity enthusiastically. The topic discussed includes the mindset for financial management as well as explanation on the financing company way of business. Throughout the Webinar, we were given many positive responses as well as interesting takes of questions asked. Not only that, the evaluation for the rate of participant literation score also increased when compared to before they joined the financial literation. This evaluation was done through a post-test done after the Webinar.

According to POJK No. 03 of 2023 regarding the Development of Financial Literation and Inclusion in the Financial Service Sector for Consumers and/or Society, every financial institution are obligated to hold financial educative activities at least twice (2 times) annually.

For the year 2023, PT Mitsui Leasing Capital Indonesia planned to participate in the effort to increase Indonesian’s financial literation and inclusion through other events in the last quarter of the year.

Hopefully through this financial literation, Participants can become more informed of the options to get financing facilities which may either boost their business or fulfil their financial needs.
