MLCI Holds Socialization on Compliance and Anti-Corruption to Enhance Awareness and Adherence to Anti-Fraud Principles

Jakarta – Mitsui Leasing Capital Indonesia (MLCI) successfully conducted a comprehensive socialization program about Compliance and Anti-Bribery, Anti-Corruption, facilitated by the esteemed consulting firm, Deloitte. The event was held at Plaza Bank Index, Thamrin, Jakarta, took place from July 16-18, 2024.

Through this socialization, MLCI is committed to continuously realizing transparent and accountable Good Corporate Governance (GCG). The other objectives of this socialization are to enhance awareness, understanding, and the application of compliance principles related to anti-fraud and anti-corruption within the MLCI’s work environment.

In Indonesia, regulations related to anti-fraud have been regulated in the Financial Services Authority Regulation (POJK) No. 35/POJK.05/2018 about the Implementation of Financing Companies Business. This regulation emphasizes the importance of compliance with anti-fraud standards to ensure that companies do not engage in harmful and unethical practices.

This socialization, themed "Compliance and Anti-Bribery, Anti-Corruption" was attended directly by all Brand Managers and Credit Marketing Heads from MLCI's branch offices in Jabodetabek, while employees from various other branches participated via Zoom Meeting. During the event, four key topics related to anti-fraud were discussed and presented by Mr. Yoga, an Immigration Consultant from Deloitte.

The first topic discussed the anti-fraud guidelines, explaining fraud control and anti-fraud strategies, which consist of four strategies: (1) prevention, (2) detection, (3) investigation, reporting, and sanctions, (4) monitoring, evaluation, and follow-up.

The discussion then continued with an in-depth understanding of the guidelines on gratuities. In this second topic, all employees were provided with explanations regarding gratuities, including the limits on giving and receiving gratuities, as well as the procedures for effective reporting or complaints, whether through internal audit or the whistleblowing system (WBS).

The third topic discussed the guidelines on code of ethics and conduct. In this session, employees were provided with an understanding of the importance of the code of ethics and conduct in maintaining integrity and professionalism in the workplace. In this topic, the whistleblowing system (WBS) was explained in detail, covering the procedures for reporting violations and the protection for informants. At MLCI, the whistleblowing system (WBS) is accessible through WhatsApp, SMS, and email, making it easy and secure for employees to report violations.

The final topic discussed the employee code of ethics and the compliance handbook by JA Mitsui Leasing. This session emphasized the importance of adhering to the laws and ethical standards established by JA Mitsui Leasing. Employees were also encouraged to actively participate in creating a transparent and accountable work environment and to comply with all applicable regulations and guidelines.

At the end of the socialization, an engaging quiz was held to enhance enthusiasm and assess participants' comprehension of the topics discussed. The three participants with the quickest and most accurate answers had the opportunity to win attractive voucher prizes.

The importance of this socialization not only in the knowledge shared but also in the reinforced commitment among employees to apply compliance and anti-corruption principles in every aspect of their work. With this socialization, hopefully all MLCI’s employees will become more aware of their crucial role in maintaining integrity, thus continuing to drive MLCI as a company grounded in good governance, transparency, accountability, and free from corruption and bribery practices.
